What is Gut Microbiome?
Today, I’m going to share an interesting health topic called “Gut Microbiome.”
Firstly, let me give you the description of what Gut Microbiome is. Our bodies contain trillions of different “microorganisms or microbes”. A microorganism or microbe is an organism that is so small that it is microscopic meaning it’s invisible to the naked eye. You can read more about it here.
In fact most microorganisms exist primarily inside our bodies, in particular the intestines and skin.
Microorganisms or microbes found in the pocket of our large intestines are called “Cecum”. They are also referred to as the Gut Microbiome.

Why Gut Microbiome is Vital for our Health
The Gut Microbiome refers to the collection of the microbes in our intestines, which act as another organ that’s truly essential for our general health. It helps control digestion, benefiting our immune and central nervous system and other bodily processes.
Furthermore, there are more than 1,000 species of bacteria in the human Gut Microbiome, and each of them plays different roles for our health.
It’s a fact that without Gut Microbiome in our bodies, we cannot digest food properly. Not having enough or a proper balance of them in our bodies, this can then lead to a disruption in your immune system, digestive system, nervous system, and also cause weight.
How Gut Microbiome Affects Digestion and in turn Your Weight
Do you exercise and eat a balanced diet but still gain weight? There must be a reason for it. One of which could be having a lower Gut Microbiome diversity in your body.
I have read in different medical health studies, obesity is often associated with lower gut bacteria variations.
For this reason, I advise you to have a check-up with your personal doctor and consult if you can take probiotic supplementation with products like PB Assist® (Probiotic Defense Formula) .
It has proprietary formula of pre-biotic fiber and probiotic microorganisms contained with PB Assist+ includes L. acidophilus, B. bifidus, B. longum, L. plantarum, and L. caseii to promote a positive balance and variety of beneficial gut bacteria.
In addition to the supplement, allow your diet to include more fermented foods, like kefir, sauerkraut, and pickled items. These all contain natural sources of probiotics.
Moreover, if you need more help with your weight management goals and overall health, I can help you with that. I recommend including doTERRA Lifelong Vitality Pack® to meet your vitamin and mineral needs, and experiment to find which foods work best for you.
